Documenting 50 business processes on a manufacturing floor

I pitched and lead a business process analysis project at a manufacturing client, running structured floor interviews with process owners and turning the transcripts into formal documentation.

The problem

Operational knowledge at a manufacturing client lived with individual people on the production floor. There was no written record of how roughly fifty core business processes actually ran, as opposed to how they were assumed to run.

What I did

I pitched the project to the client stakeholder, got approval, and own the scope from interview through to the final document. I run structured interviews on the production floor with process owners and frontline staff, then convert the transcripts into formal process documents with diagrams.

The documentation set is also the retrieval knowledge base for the internal assistant I built for the same client.
